Isaac Machuki Ogoncho is a dynamic self-motivated leader, nurse educator and researcher. He has fulfilled a number leadership and management roles in the health care system. He has also worked in the Ministry of Health to build the capacity of nurse practitioners towards improving the quality of nursing care provision in the clinical setting.
He holds a Master of Science in Medical-Surgical Nursing and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. His focus is on developing and integrating effective preventive and promotive nursing interventions that will influence better health outcomes among patients with chronic illnesses. He has published in national and international journals and has been involved in national workshops and conferences. He is currently a faculty member in the Department of Medical-Surgical Nursing at Maseno University.
He continues to engage in community empowerment initiatives through working with community units and youth groups on matters tuberculosis, HIV/AIDS, sexual and reproductive health. In collaboration with County Directorates of Health, he also volunteers as a nurse practitioner during free medical and surgical camps.
