Meetings held at Vice Chancellor's boardroom and at the Western Kenya Cancer Care & Research Center in Kisumu.

A recent courtesy visit by National Research Fund Kenya (NRF) members to Maseno University offered a glimpse into the promising future of cancer research in Kenya. The central focus of the visit was the state-of-the-art cancer research lab (Western Kenya Cancer Care & Research Center), funded by NRF's infrastructure grant and currently leading the fight against cancer in the Lake Region and beyond.
The recent visit by National Research Fund (NRF) members to Maseno University wasn’t just about monitoring progress – it was a handshake that promised a brighter future for cancer research in Kenya. Witnessing the groundbreaking work happening at the university's cancer research lab, led by the visionary Dr. Nyambega, ignited a spark of deeper collaboration.

With NRF's commitment to increased funding and MSU's dedication to groundbreaking research, the cancer research lab is poised to become a beacon of hope, not just for the Lake Region, but for the entire nation.

The delegation, which was led by Dr. Eliud Musotsi, Ag. Deputy Director Research Grants, met with Dr. Nyambega, the dedicated head of the lab, and other Maseno University officials led by Prof. Chacha, Deputy Vice Chancellor Partnerships, Research and Innovations. Impressed by the progress, Dr. Eliud Musotsi stated, "We are tremendously proud to support this innovative lab. Its impact transcends regional boundaries, offering hope to the entire nation and attracting researchers from as far as Malawi."
